DLC and Multiplayer Not Coming to inFamous

Bruce Oberg, co-founder of Sucker Punch, has confirmed that there are no plans on having DLC or multiplayer for their upcoming open-world action title, inFamous.

Oberg said that the company is currently on “vacation”, and when they come back, it will be the future for their company. So, we won’t be seeing DLC or multiplayer. But does it really matter? Now, the company can focus on their next title, which may be the next Sly Cooper.

In een exclusief gesprek met Bruce Oberg, mede-oprichter van Sucker Punch, kregen we te horen dat het bedrijf "mountains to climb" had om het spel uiteindelijk klaar te stomen voor zijn release. Eerst en vooral was het een enorme opgave om het spel van zijn originele concept (superheld) helemaal uit te werken tot het spel dat binnenkort in de rekken ligt.



Dit was echter niet de enige moeilijkheid. Zo waren er "two other mountains", met name multiplayer en downloadable content. Omdat de eerste berg al zo verschrikkelijk zwaar was, heeft het bedrijf zich tijdens de ontwikkeling zelfs niet gewaagd aan deze twee zaken. Omdat de ontwikkeling ondertussen echter al een tijdje achter de rug is, zou men kunnen verwachten dat het bedrijf nu echter wel plant - of al bezig is - om één van de twee (of beide) bergen te beklimmen. Oberg wist echter te melden dat men hier absoluut nog niet mee bezig was. Men is nu op 'vakantie' en wanneer men goed en wel terug is, zal bekeken worden wat de toekomstplannen zijn voor het bedrijf.
